Rhythmtots was created by Mary Montgomery in 2006 who is a musician after retiring as an experienced and qualified Nursery Teacher of 30 years. She has always been responsible for music during her time as a Nursery Nurse and Teacher. From these experiences she has seen all the benefits and joy that music makes in a young child’s life which inspired her to set up classes for parents, babies and toddlers in the Chelmsford area.
 
Her assistants, Mary Murdoch who is also a qualified Nursery Nurse has had lots of experience working with young children and a friend who has worked alongside Mary for a number of years. Ruth Montgomery is a musician and flute teacher who is interested in developing music for very young children. Ruth hopes to extend these Rhythmtots classes for babies and children with deafness/hearing impairment to give them the same experiences as hearing children. She is deaf herself, but knows too well how music can change a child’s life.
